CIS455.XYZ (“the Site”) is operated by Bolu Technologies. This policy explains what we collect and why.
1. Information you provide
- Account data: username, email address, and password (stored hashed). If you enable two-factor authentication, your 2FA secret is stored to verify codes.
- Community content: comments, chat messages, and anything you post publicly. Public posts are visible to everyone; do not post information you want kept private.
- Ask CIS conversations: your questions to the AI assistant. They are processed by our AI provider to generate answers and may be logged briefly for safety and quality.
2. Information collected automatically
- Security logs: to keep the Site safe we log failed login attempts, new registrations, blocked spam, and flagged chat activity, including IP addresses and timestamps (“Site Guardian”). This data is used only for security and moderation.
- Cookies: we use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your language and theme preferences, and protect forms against abuse.
- Technical data: browser type and pages visited, used in aggregate to improve the Site.
3. How we use information
To operate accounts and the community, keep the Site secure (fraud and abuse prevention), moderate content, and improve our services. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Sharing
We share data only as needed: with our hosting provider to operate the Site; with the AI provider to answer Ask CIS questions; and with authorities when required by law or to prevent harm (including reports of child-safety violations). Public posts (comments, chat) are visible to all visitors by design.
5. Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. Security logs are retained for up to 12 months. If you delete your account, your profile is removed; published comments/chat may remain attributed to a generic “former member” label unless removal is requested.
6. Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data from your profile page, or contact us via the Contact page to request a copy or deletion. We will respond within a reasonable time.
7. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and accounts for under-13s are not permitted.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date will change. Material changes will be highlighted here.
