The right song sounds even better on the open road. Today, Spotify is introducing a new way to listen while driving: our next-generation in-car app, launching first across Audi’s current lineup. Our new native app runs directly on the vehicle’s infotainment system, integrating Spotify seamlessly into its screens, sound system, and voice controls. Sign in once, and playback is ready when you start the car—no cables or Bluetooth required. https://storage. googleapis. com/pr-newsroom-wp/1/2026/10/Spotify-x-Audi-30-Second-Hero-Video-16-x-9-smaller-27340823408. mp4

Spotify, designed for the car

Until now, in-car audio has been shaped by phone projection. Our new fully native app was built specifically for the in-car environment, allowing us to build a deeper, more engaging experience for drivers and listeners alike. The experience adapts to the drive. While the vehicle is moving, the center display restricts video and lyrics to keep the driver focused on the road, prioritizing hands-free voice controls and simplified navigation. When parked, including while EV charging, drivers can use the main display for full-screen video podcasts, music videos, and real-time lyrics. Drivers can also use the vehicle’s native voice controls to manage playback hands-free with “Hey Audi,” or talk directly to Spotify’s DJ to help shape what plays next. On supported vehicles, front passengers can use dedicated secondary displays to browse, view lyrics, and watch video without distracting the driver. They can also scan an on-screen QR code to join an in-car Spotify Jam and add songs to a shared queue straight from their phones. “We know how much our listeners love taking Spotify on the road, and this new native app takes that experience to the next level,” said Jonathan Tarlton , Automotive Business Development Lead at Spotify…
